I purchased the original Vinturi a while back through Amazon, but found that I almost needed a third hand to use it, so I like the fact that they've now developed a stand to hold the aerator above your glass. However, before I found out about the new version with the stand, a friend of mine gave me a wine aerator they had bought in London. It's called the Wineweaver and I haven't seen anything like it before. You are able to sit it directly on top of your glass, so there's no need for a third hand or a separate stand and you can move the spout up and down so that you can make the wine hit the curve of the glass which really helps to open up your wine. I'd love to purchase these for Christmas presents but I haven't yet found them in my local stores only on the internet - www.wineweaver.com ? Does anyone have any ideas? I love the funky colors that they come in, so if anyone knows which stores this is in would be great.
So, getting back to it, although I think the Vinturi is great and really does make a difference to your wine, I'd say if you're having difficulty using it but want results just as good, then try out the Wineweaver - I love it and can't stop raving about it!

I just purchased the kit from B.R. Cohn's gift shop in Sonoma Valley, and gave it to my father as a gift. I was surprised to see that there was no instruction booklet; even though it seems like such a simple process, my father did have questions that I was unable to answer. That is my only remark, for what it's worth, and I look forward to seeing the approving look spread across my Dad's face as he tastes the fruits of your labor- we went on the internet and found all we needed to know in this delightful You Tube demonstration. (P.S. The brief explanation on the side of the box was just a little too brief for my skimpy knowledge of wines and their needs, and there just might be someone out there who refuses to enlist the help of a computer!) Aloha, Yvonne Elliman
