I got a wine enthusiast 5 piece kit years ago and It has never worked! I can not get the cork screw to take the cork out. The worm goes down into the cork but the bottom silver piece never goes up when you raise the lever. Is there anything I can do to fix it or is there something I am doing wrong?

Bought a rabbit, wore out a worm in a month, Not impressed! got a , what I think is a Screwpull lever type or a Q Quicksilver , I wish someone would give me input to which one I have?? No name anywhere. Looks like both. I do have two , both Christmas gifts , one broke and sheared an aluminum pin after two bottles and the other one is kickin’ butt and takin’ names but I still am going to need worms eventually

I love my lever cork screw but it doesn’t work well on man made corks!!! It pops natural corks out like a charm!!

Great article and just in time. I am in the market for a new corkscrew since I broke my waiter’s style corkscrew after many years of use. I think I’ll give the lever style corkscrew a try. Love your blog!!
